Charlotte Rodenstedt is an artist, animator, producer, sculptor, game developer, scenographer, video editor, Olympic gymnast, ceramicist, crocheter, photographer and businesswoman (only one of these things isn’t true).
She has run her company, Bloody Honey, from Malmö for the past 13 years: it’s been a way for her to bring her passion for lively, offbeat art into public and commercial spaces.
Examples include the installations she made for the City of Malmö’s environment department featuring electronic rats and decomposing trash. She has created outdoor light projections for Malmö Festivalen, Malmö Museums and the renowned Kulturbolaget venue. Indoors, she has produced animated scenography for award-winning productions of Beauty and the Beast (Malmö Opera) and Another World (Malmö Stadsteater). Plus, she has won awards for her videos for the Prison Radio Association (UK) and domestic violence activist Linn M Hällen.
This presentation gives you a taste of Charlotte’s various fascinations. She uses diverse approaches and media in her linocuts, ceramics and film, but they’re always underpinned with humour, brightness and sharp observation. Eyes Eyes Baby is a case in point: in collaboration with artist Sara Granér, the short film gives an insight into the possibilities and limitations of vision, delivered with energy and colour.
